Motor screams and gets hot while idle

    Hi.
Took me 3 years to get this far but i am starting to se some results at last.
I've started converson of a Proxxon MF70 and last night i connected the first axle
But when i powered the card the motor started screaming in a very high pitch which got lower and lower until it stopped after aminute or so, and it got too warm to hold.
    Is this normal?
It seems to work anyway since i can jog it and the driver on the board IS touchable so its not that hot.

The motor name is TEC SPH-54AB-090 (have not data sheet for it thou, its from some printer)
    Running from a 12V 8Ah ATX psu.
Using a 2 years old hobbycnc card

    /Ulf
