Hello fellow CNCers, I am having a problem for awhile with our Mazak Intergrex 40 I've had the service guys here and they haven't figured it out sometimes the machine runs perfect with no shattering but there are times that all it is producing is scrap. I tried changing tool holders, tried different tools and still can't find the problem. We checked the chuck and spindle along with the turret and everything is fine. I don't know what else to do. I am open to anyones suggestions. Thanks

I have the same problem. There is a pin that sticks out from the turret that the coolant goes thru, this also is an alignment pin for the toolholder. Whenever my chatter returns I check this and find that it is loose. When I correct the problem the chatter goes away. Hope this helps.

Next time it happens stop running and check to be sure that the tool clamp is rigid and tight. I myself am a Mazak service Engineer and went to a customer plant with the same intermitting problem. Later found that sometimes the tool clamp in the turret did not funtion properly. Corrected that and all is good. Good luck. Bob B.
