    Question Hydraulic motor and pump?

I have a hydraulic motor with the following specs:
    Disp. 0.277 Cu-In/Rev.
    Torque 50 in-lb. Max
    1800 RPM @ 2.16 GPM
    5,000 RPM @ 6 GPM Max.
    PSI 1,200 Max.

Need help in figuring out how many HP ac motor will I need and what size pump to have that motor spin around 3,500 rpm and have about 40 in-lb max torque.
Would be good to stay with the standard RPM motors 1,700 or 3,400 RPM so I ca direct drive the pump.

    Thanks
    Dennis

The rule of thumb for hydraulics is 1 gpm @ 1500 psi = 1 hp. For what you want I would probably start with a 5hp drive @ 1700rpm, .6cu-in/rev pump, 1000psi psv, and a flow control valve. The reason the pump and motor are oversized is you will lose 10-20% of your power in the system. If you want to be fancy get a 5 hp 3ph, and run it on a vfd.
On all equipment there are 2 levers...
    Lever "A", and Lever F'in "B"
