Anyone out there currently or formerly work for Hardinge? I see they need some people and was wondering how they were to work for.
    Thanks in advance!

Are you living in the Elmira area? I am originally from across the border in PA. It is very depressing for me to see the shape the town is in now. Don't think I would ever move back there even tho that is where most of my family is.

I worked at Hardinge shortly after getting out of high school. No union at that time, but couldn't say yes or no to one today. Doubt it. Got paid piece rate back then. I'd run 13-15 hours of work in 9 hours, turn in about 11, and leave the rest for the night shift guy. Don't know if it is still that way today. This was over 40 years ago.

Company I now work for has 9 cnc Hardinge lathes plus a few manual ones. I have to call them occasionally for parts, service or application. People I deal with are very nice.

Knowing the area, I would venture a guess that wages are going to be a lot less than in other areas of the country. Strictly a guess...no actual knowledge.

Thanks. But, I am a field service engineer for a distributor. Hardinge is looking for one in the area where I live.
