    My home made CNC .

    Hello ,

    The system said that I never posted in this site , so I am here say hello
    to everybody

    this is my home made CNC machine ;
    Available mill range : X 1780mm , Y 780mm , Z 250mm
    Spindle : 24000rpm(max 30000rpm),Max Tool D13.0,Feed rate : 4600mm

    Welcome aboard! What a nice looking machine too -- you obviously did a bit of planning before settling on the machine in cad1 and photo1.
    What are you using for a spindle? Any close ups of the mounting?

    Now that is an interesting design. For sure capiable judging by the cut examples.

    Don't think I've seen a Z moving gantry like that yet. That is cool as you never have to worry about part clearence with the gantry. Interesting in any case. But do you get any racking on the Z with that? Looks like you are using nice roller blocks so it's probably quite stable on the right and left sides even though the screw is only in the middle. Wonder how a dual screw would do.



    Don't worry about your english (see you are from tiwan) People are going to want details on that spindle..

    I'm curious about what your cutting and the process. Looks like you have a liquid tank and are cutting plastic parts. Are you doing some finish sanding to get it as smooth as your pictures show?

    Looks like you are making radio control model air plane wings of some sort? is that true?

    hopefully not to many questions. But again people I'm sure are going to be focused on that spindle and wanting to know about that.

    Thanks for your interesting , but you were right , my English is really not good, so I am afraid that I can not realize your
    means.so I take some pictures of my CNC, maybe you can found the answer in the pictures.by the way , my CNC is very
    quite stable when all axis moving. use servo motor , 20 mm track(X 4 , Y 2, Z 2 , each track using 2 slider)

    A. spindle = cut motor or all system of Z .(I can not realize)
    B. the part in the liquid tank is aluminum.(pict 1)
    C. yes , when the cnc work ok, I use sanding paper to sanding and car wax
    to polish my mold.
    D. yes , it is RC glider mold(my hobby, I am working about CAD/CAM)

    if you need more picture then tell me , I will take some what you need.

    So that was making a mold in aluminum for some helicopter wings then?

    Were you using a ball nose cuting bit? Curious about your step over (distance between cuts) to get the mold as smooth as it looks..

    Some real great work for sure.

    picture #3 is a wing mold in progress

    Pic 5 is the wing mold (guessing ABS plastic?) after polish..

    Pic 6 is the mold with a wing in it?

    Some day I would like to learn about making molds and laying carbon fiber things up.

    I got a pair of carbon fiber wings for my Picolo micro helicopter from a guy in the UK that were really wonderfull

    Hi!
    A. yes , it's for my T-rex 450(Heli) 325mm blade. cut step is 0.25mm , then use #400~2000 sanding paper to sanding.

    B. pict #3 is in progress , when polish ok then use gel cast to copy.(see mypost 1 RCgroup link)

    C. no , there have nothing in the mold.(post 1 , pict #6)

    Wow.. The pictures in the RCgroups post are very cool. I'll need to look at them to learn some about the build process.

    I've spent some time in the past building and flying RC models (electric park filers and zagis) but got out of it after having kids.

    Mold making is something I really need to try some time with my machine. But is at a level higher then I am at right now over all.

    Great post. And very impressive work.

    Hmm... You've done some high quality expansion moulds, do you work with prototyping or something similar?
    Not many hobbyist's make such nice looking pieces.

    No, It's my first time to make cast mold and first time to build 3m glider, but
    I am working about CAD/CAM ( drawing 3D model and make tool path (NC code) to CNC factory or mold factory) 12 years long.

    why to Build plane by myself , because buy the plane from European must
    wait over 6 months and very very expensive . It will be get crazy and when
    crash and heart broken.

    Some(3) of my friends wants me to help them to build CNC machine and teach them how to use
    and making mold , so I just design complete right now.

    spindle motor : 24V DC brushless 4000RPM , 0.735 N-m . maximum cut tool D13mm
    use sand mold method to make CNC aluminum table.

    Super quiet spindle , 0.735NM/300~4000rpm

    those machines look fantastic.
    you could start a business selling them i think.

    do you have a link or could you tell us the brand of that spindle your using on those machines. i'd like to look it up.

    But the spindle is my design too , you can not find in the market .
