Hi can any one help me i need to wite a programto ingrave a part that i am machining on a haas. The engraving consists of a part number that increases by 1 every time e.g. part number AAAAA1, AAAAA2, AAAAA3, AAAAA4, up to AAAAA2000, Is there a way to program this with a macro program that changes the program automaticly.

If I remember it correctly in your G47 line you put P0 and then (######) for what will be engraved.

Then before running the program go to Current Commands, page down twice, enter 599 and write. This brings up the page with all the macro variables. You type in the starting number you want to use and press Write. If this does not work get back to me tomorrow; we do sequential serial numbers all the time.
An open mind is a virtue...so long as all the common sense has not leaked out.

You don't have to have macro enabled to use G47 you should be able to specify all your info on the G47 line.
