Is this a completely new model or a replacement to the existing super mini or regular mini.

Is the z axis travel going to be increased from the current 10" (14" with option)?

On the existing MiniMill the Z travel is not increased, just the height. The entire top of the machine is lifted up on a spacer between the base casting and the column casting. It is very useful for vise or rotary work but means you cannot reach closer than about 3 inches above the table with standard length tooling.

The travels in Mini2 look very good if it is in the same footprint.
An open mind is a virtue...so long as all the common sense has not leaked out.

Agreed! Makes one wonder if the VF1 is going to be put out to pasture or relegated to the department of redundancy department.

Would you happen to know anything about the hp and spindle speed of the new machine? Is it similiar to the current super mini (15hp, 10k)?
