    pounce kit for patterns/stencils - SUMMA D60

hi, i´m a happy owner of summa d60, and i wish to create nice
    patterns/stencils for my friends.
i´ve found in manual, that my plotter can pounce, but never heard of it
    on the internet.
most people say, it´s too slow , make it by your hands with pouncing wheel.
it may be too hard to this plotter??
it´s strange to heard about it, so if you have any experience,
    please share it.
it´d be amazing to extend our imagination in selfmade art :-)
    thanks !

p.s.the second pic doesn´t belong to summa plotter, even i wished to find it :-)

I have done it on my Mutoh. Yes, it's hard on it, the blade simply bounces up and down very quickly to poke the material as the head moves, rather than dragging to cut. It is a feature though, and meant to take it, so as long as it isn't done every day, it should be fine.

Many people do use a pen in the plotter to draw the image then run a pounce wheel over it by hand.

    hi,
    interesting ideas about it.
i´d like to get it for resonable price in europe, any valuable tip is
    apreciated.
at our homeland the pouncing tool is overpriced.
    thanks!
    good luck!

On my plotter they have a 4 foam strips and a special pouncing blade holder
Was like 80 bucks for the kit.

On settings it has pouncing ,why spend 80 bucks to see if I could use it?
Made a pouncing tool out of a old plotter pen
stuck a length of weather strip foam to a strip of door magnet material.
( Factory thing is stick it to the teflon strip then peel it off when you want to cut vinyl )

Worked cool faster and more accurate than I could make by hand.

Mine is 1/8 x3/8 black foam
The magnet strip also blocks the material detector, this is needed because evedently the foam holds it up where it cant see the paper

The pen pouncer I pulled the guts out of a pen then put a roofing nail in it.

I cut it so the length was the same as the stock nib.
Then sharpened it to a pointy pyramid . It was picking up the paper and tearing it ,so I put a small light weight spring around it and bent it so it was just a little longer than the nail. This keeps the paper pushed off the tip.
Simple stupid works like a charm Make sure to take a pc of 120 sandpaper lightly to the back to open the holes in the paper
Line chalk in a old sock works for the transfer part.

Dont forget to set the plotter to pounce and the spacing you would like. Not sure of the D60s setup procedures but probably right on the menu.

Ah next see if it will do engraving if I make one with a diamond drag engraving bit like that 90 dollar one I posted about

I'm thinking epoxy in a length of brass tubing and put some rubber at top to cushion the impact ( but from the noise theirs made they dont)

    Good luck with it.

    Dave
