    Smile Just starting to look...

    Hello to all:

I wat to buy a small table-top CNC router rig. I have looked around exhaustively and based on price it's either going to be a machine from moosecreeksales on eBay or a ZenBot on eBay.

Does anyone out there have any opinions about using belts vs. screws for motion control? Both of the aforementioned sellers have high praise for their stuff.

The ZenBot machine comes with motors that seem awfully underpowered to me, only 75 oz/inch. Granted, the machine is using a Dremel 300 which is a small tool, but the other machines I have seen in this form factor use at least 200 oz/inch motors.

If I go with the ZenBot, it comes with the motors, and the nitwit at Xylotex won't sell me just a drive box-enclosure and motor cables; I'd have to get the whole setup, motors included. Where can I get just the darn box (box + drive board in it would be ideal!) Of course, if the ZenBot guy will sell me a machine without motors, then I could get the whole Xylotex setup.

Thanks in advance for any replies!

See if widgetmaster still has any machines for sale. I think he puts them on ebay as well. He also posts here, and makes very, very nice machines.
