I would like to sharing my system design, I think that it is easy for build and work very fine.

It looks good JV, maybe not the best design for some people because they may not have th equipment to fold the thick plate steel. Very good though.
Excellent! How precise is that? I have tons of bearings that I would like to put to a good use...
I realize this post is a couple months old.. But I just took apart a big old optical disk drive (pre-cursor to CD Rom drive) that used this same setup, of course with smaller bearings. There is a bunch of pre-load on the bearings to eliminate slop, but the rod slides through with no resistance. I had thought of using this method for my mill before I found a good deal on some pre-built linear slides.
GOOD NEAT DESIGN LIKE YOUR WORK JV. MADE A TABLE SOMEWHAT LIKE YOURS.
How do you adjust the load of the bearings? Just by moving the single bearing section up and down? Looks like another nice implementation of a ball bearing solution for low cost linear motion. Is that wooden cable track I see in the background as well? That looks pretty cool...
