    I'll agree with arty.

I did a lot of that at my old job. The best bet is edm.Or you can try, make sure you have a clean surface and not the casting, also use solid carbide around 150-300rpm .01" per peck at .001-.002fpr go about .100 depth then sharpen drill.

If you can't edm it good luck.

maybe laser! or try .5 ipm and .040" peck-drill with cobalt or carbide & flood it to death!

    inco likes...

inco usually likes steady drilling depends on how deep you are going dont peck unless its a really deep hole but with a .04 dia then you can usually drill at 100-150 sfm feed around .0005-.002 all depends on your drills

I used to tap and drill alot of 4-40 holes in Inc. 718. Ran a .089 drill at 2000rpm, .020 peck, 1.0 IPM. Used garr solid carbide 2flute stub drill.

I agree!! Flood pretty well and crank up the rpms and peck 4 times should push you thru.

Making sure you dont work harden the material is the main key with Inconnel and titanium. Inconnel is harder on tooling that titanium from what ive seen due to the nickle. Its more abrasive.
