everything going fine, running dnc from cf card. Reposted a program, reinserted card in remote mode, got this alarm. (OIMC control). Tried another card that was fine, same alarm. Restarted machine, reformatted card at PC, same alarm. I cant find "1010" alarm in the book, so I dont really know where to start. any help would be super!

How did you format the card?
It is the poor craftsman that blames the tool

    1010 ALARM

This is just an alarm that tells you that you haven't put the card in properly. Normally you can pull the card out, press the reset button and reinsert the card and everything will be fine. But since you said you tried another card that was fine, then the next thing to look at would be the control card reader. It might be wrecked. Check the pins and make sure they are clean and not bent.

CAD/CAM Man might be onto to something, format the card at the controller, fanucs can get picky about how the formating is done on the card. Also try shutting everything down and then restart and see if that works.

    1010 Error

I just purchased cards made by kingston and they all give that same error, while our sandisk cards don't cause problems. Maybe manufacturer has something to do with it?

please format the card in FAT mode, copy again the programs u need and insert into the machine. If ur computer is free of virus everything goes well as per my experience.

I found that the cards made by Kingston on work if they are 2GB or less. The original Sandisk will work up to 4GB but I found Transcend Industrial to be one of the best cards to get.

Because of this reason only, some people use extension cord with the card, rather than directly inserting it in the machine.
