what model mazak?
Thanks for the responses. We have a Quick Turn 28N to be done first. I plan to all the others as a PM. We have just rebuilt the tailstock on the QT and found the fittings to be plugged with a waxy residue. This tells us the fittings need a PM Program.
Proper way lube is not supposed to contain any wax to leave a residue. That's the big difference between way lube and regular oils or greases.
I will say that I've used Vactra #2 forever and not had problems...but don't have a clue as to what all the floating bits of gunk are that come out of the 5gal pail..but get caught by the pre-filter..
There's a tough waxy film on the exposed ways on our chucker that I've never seen on any other machines, so figure the previous owner was using a cheap lube, or the wrong lube.
Most of the time Mazak uses LUBE brand lubricalion systems, but they also use Bijur. See web sites for parts
