    z axis adjustment help

    i am trying to tune in my z axis on my IH CNC kit. right now i seem to get a loud shrieking noise when the axis tries to move. i've been playing with the gecko adjustments and nothing seems to be getting me any closer to a nice hum. the x and y axis move very nicely and the servos hum just a little.

    one thing i did notice though on my x and y axis, is that the belt tends to walk on the pulley some. i don't know if this is common with the kits or not, but i followed the instructions that were supplied to the letter.

    thanks for the help

    Hi Jerry;
    Call me on the Z adjustment. As far as belt walk is concerned, the older kits like yours there is some belt walk, but because of the type of belt we use there is no loss of accuracy. The new system of machining that we now use to machine the parts, pulleys included has virtually eliminated the belt walk.
