    Tormach on tough steel K600

Bohler K600 - machinability somewhere between D2 and 01. My first job really challenging Tormach - it did OK! using a 16 mm dia insertable carbide end mill - cut out 3 blocks approx 200X50X60 mm as per pic. About 90 minutes each. - 2600rpm - 1mm deep cuts - F500

OK can mean "so so"... in the states.

    Very cool BTW!

BTW? I suppose we should be boring as this is an international forum and use formal language such as: "The Tormach machined the tough K600 steel remarkably well actually Rodney."

    Hi Keen,
Yes that can mean "so so", "ok but could have done better, etc... The reason I ask is, that I'm buying one very very soon (hoping at the end of summer ) and have ask before in the past, but no response.

Do you have any more pictures to show ?

Any stainless projects to show ?

Hi - i have mostly been working with Aluminium. Heres a pic of drilling the K600. As you probably know ridgidity is the limiting factor with light machines - my feeling is the Tormach is almost as ridgid as a Bridgport. So for the money it is pretty impressive really. The good thing about cnc is that you can leave it to run on many light passes - time is not so critical.

Even people that speak the same language sometimes mis-understand. When a Brit, or a Kiwi, or an Aussie says something is not too bad...they probably mean it is damn near excellent.
An open mind is a virtue...so long as all the common sense has not leaked out.
