    Question Absolute and Incremental

    newbie question, :drowning:
    what is difference between absolute and incremental G-code?

    after .dxf to .txt need convert to absolute G-code or no need?

    There is a world of difference: incremental programming means the control simply moves the machine to the next point relative to the present position. This can cause an accumulated error. It also makes starting in the middle of a program an impossibility.

    Absolute programming reckons all movements relative to a datum or reference point on the part. Errors (due to rounding off) do not accumulate). Mid program starts are feasible if done carefully.
    First you get good, then you get fast. Then grouchiness sets in.

    Newbie's PoV on mid program starts!

    Try to work out which direction the cutter is going to move on the restart and then jog manually to a safe position away from the workpiece before doing the restart!

    This may save a rapid into the workpiece and the resulting destruction! (ask me how I know )
