Lightbulb Servos, steppers, drives and encoders, Oh my

The more I read, the less I know. Or so I thought until coming across this article about servos, steppers, drives and encoders. http://www.baldor.com/pdf/manuals/1205-394.pdf
It is all starting to click now.

Thanks to all that contribute to and host the Zone I have learned much from all of you in a very short time. Priceless…

What a VERY Good resource - thanks for sharing that! Jim
Experience is the BEST Teacher. Is that why it usually arrives in a shower of sparks, flash of light, loud bang, a cloud of smoke, AND -- a BILL to pay? You usually get it -- just after you need it.
