Multiple pulses for spindle encoder - how to install?

    Hi

I have a single pulse per rev tacho on my spindle (Mach 3, ver 2.63) which works nicely. I wish to add more pulses per revolution but I cannot see where I tell Mach 3 how many index pulses there are per revolution. Is there an easy way to add this?

    Thanks!

Why do you want to add more? From what I've read, one pulse per rev works fine and is what's recommended.

I wanted a smoother reading of the rpm at low speeds - eg at 200 rpm there are only three pulses per second so the control tends to be a bit jerky. It mentions in the UsingMach3 pdf that "The index sensor can generate severla pulses per revolution.." on page 6-5 but there is no info on how I set this in the software
    Thanks!
