Servo Motors: 3 motors at 1500 ozin peak, nema 42
Controller: 3 x Rutex Controllers with motherboard and IO card.
Frame: Aluminum T-Slots
Linear Bearings: THK Rails on all three axis.
Actuators: 2 ball screws, 1 rack-and-pinion
Hour to complete: One Year
Plans: My own design
Software: Rhino 3D, Visual Mill, Mach2
Actually, I'm just finishing mine, but I finally got all the parts. Add another $500 for tools, and another $500 in mistakes. If I had used plans I could have done it in 3 months at a slightly higher price. I spent much of my time just gathering parts on ebay at the "right price". I'll post a web page about it when I done (this month).

Construction: Gantry style, All solid aluminum, THK Linear bearings
Lead screws: Rolled 5/8" .2 pitch ball screws and nuts in all three axies
Time to complete: about 8 months or less.

Software in use: Mach 2, MasterCam, ArtCam, SolidWorks, Cadkey

I use it mostly for engraving and foam cutting for LFC
