I have a Hurco KM3P mill. I need some help solving a problem I have with the spindle. When I start the spindle it always goes to the highest rpm (4000), even if you program a different rpm on the tool set up or the part programing. This happens on manual mode or automatic mode. Every time I run the program i have to go back and set the rpm manually to a desired speed. If anyone has any ideas or can help me with this I would appreciate it.

1. bad speed sensing prox switch in head.
2. speed control board (usually in left-hand cabinet).
3. Someone has had the mechanical part of the speed control apart (behind cover on the front of the head) and assembled the chain backwards on the pulley.
4. broken wire or bad connection.

check with steve artz at hurco. he is a wiz on those km3 heads. [email protected] or 317-614-1500
