    File extensions on oi-mc

Is there a parameter to set default file extension? My files have no file extension and windows doesn't know what these files are. Notepad scramables file, even with word wrap on. WordPad works, but...
If I try to download a program with .TXT extension, control doesn't see it. So I have to delete extension, then windows tells me file is unstable. Other fanucs in shop have .txt as default extension??? Is something not set in control???
    Thanks in advance,
    -Jim

Fanuc doesn't use extensions, and doesn't care what the extension is, as long as the program is ASCII text.

What program are you using to send/receive? The file extensions should be set there.

When you say notepad scrambles the file, do you mean unreadable text, or one continuous line, or what?

    Thanks for the reply dcoupar,
I'm using WS_FTP to transfer files. It's a free FTP program I always used on my websites. Works great! You got me looking at setting options for file extensions and I realized I had different options to set while logged on/off. I set program to strip off file extensions at transfer to control. Nice! Thanks again for the insight.
