Interact 1 mk2 be safe measures

    Hi guys,

Boy there is a knowledge base here....I am humbled.

    I brought a Interact 1 Mk2 a few weeks ago.

I didn't see it going, but I am told it was a good goer and it looks like a new machine.....

    Its a Interact 1 mk2 with a TNC155 controller

I am currently getting the sparky's to wire up the 3 phase to it so I can fire it up.

    Now my questions......

I am learning it is a problem if the batteries go flat, so how do I change these without loosing the parameters, assuming they are still there.....

How do I back the parameters up ?....... I am seeing they are a problem if lost.

I have an electronics background, so I will most likely understand your explination

Thanks for your time, helping a learner in CNC stuff

change the batteries with the power ON. 3 AA's

once you get the rs232 set up to bring programs back and forth, you can send the parameters out by hitting the MOD key until 'code number' comes up and type 95148 then hit the EXT key, it should prompt you to send or recieve

Ok, so as simple as that..... machine powered up and in standby mode....and just change the batteries.....

do you recomend Lithium AA's ?

also , how long would you think the batteries in it would last....I gather it would have alk batteries in it....
how often do you guys change them ??

You batteries should last several years.

In a macine that is on 8 hrs a day, I have gotten better than 5 years, I barely remember ever doing it. It is only when they sit a lot that the batteries get low. Duracells are fine
