We are looking at purchasing an Onsrud Panel Pro CNC Router, and think that we have mostly everything worked out. We're adding in the option of using aggregate heads which they call a C- axis. But the question has come up about doing rotary machining, which in metal working terms is the A axis. We are adding a 4th rotary axis to our mill, and thought that we might be able to do so with the router.

Can the router be outfitted with a rotary indexer that is an aftermarket piece of tooling, and still be actuated from the machine controller? The software that we are looking at is Mastercam Router. We were told by the Onsrud dealer that they don't sell a rotary indexing head for the router. They also said to control the C axis head we need to get the 5 axis license for the Mastercam software. Which we'll probably do in the near future.
