Hey guys

where i work we have all kind of controls Siemens, Heidenhain
Okuma, Yasnac, Mitsubishi and of couarse Fanuc. We used to work in
inches, but recently we started getting most the jobs in Metric, To
make life easier for everyone we started making programs according to
drawing Inches or Metric .
Most the controls do conversion without any problem. What fanuc
noooooo I changed the parameter #5006 bit0 to 1 it converts offset
but not the Work Shift. it changes the decimal point over to three digites.
Fare enough, so we calculate the work shift and change it manually.
But problem is some reason it does not work we put same value in for inches or Metric but it,s off .006" on one machine other one is off
like .02' , So if you guys have experianced this kind of problem or any ideas, pls let me know.

hmmm, just curious why bother change machine parameter, can you convert metric to inches the program it self? I think it is much more easy and keep everything in the shop the same, 'cause everything else is in inch.
