I have been tinkering with this Chinese made laser engraver for 3 weeks now. Although I would say that it has limited capabilities, it fits my needs. One problem that I have been trying to fix is the ghost image it creates on the product. I was able to line up the image along the x-axis but there is still the secondary image directly below the original image and parallel to the Y-axis stays, no matter how I tweak the settings. If I will use a crosshair image, I could line up the vertical line but uniting the horizontal lines drives me crazy.

check the tension on your belts and that the pulleys ar tight.
this has happened before to me.

I don't think it has something to do with the belts because the ghost image is directly below the other,about .6mm under, not beside it. All my vertical lines are clean and crisp..only the horizontal and sloping lines are doubled.

If I do a one-directional engraving, the image will turn out clean and crisp and that is when the laser emits only on its travel from left to right. I suspect that when doing bi-directional engraving, on its travel back (from right to left), the laser emits about ten or so many cycles behind thus creating the ghost image.
