    Exclamation Machining Full Hard Stainless

We are trying to machine 304 2B full hard stainless. Are machine is a HAAS VF3. Any suggestions on types of tools and the speeds and feeds we should use? Also, the depth of cut with a .25" tool.

I'm not certain how hard that actually is on the Rockwell scale, probably not very hard. Since the hardness has to be cold worked into the material, it may want to warp all over the place when the stresses are relieved in an uneven manner.

First you get good, then you get fast. Then grouchiness sets in.

(Note: The opinions expressed in this post are my own and are not necessarily those of CNCzone and its management)

Isnt the 2B rating just a finish type from the manufacture? and not a code for its hardness?
