    If it is a knee mill similar to a Bridgeport then I would suspect you need to turn the worm gear to get it to pivot? Should be a big hex driver just behind the pivot point where the slide is attached to the column.

    pivoting the Index Mill head

    If have not figured it out yet the wormgear is located on the left side of the head just below the angle graduation plate the indicates the angle the head is tilted it is a 3/4 hex nut about an 1" long useing a 3/4" socket with a ratchet moves the nicely.:cheers:

    Get A BOOK

    There are several good books on how to use a Bridgeport type conventional Knee Mill!

    Study up before you brake something!
