Setting Limits In TurboCNC? Also convert line drawings?

    Hi Gang,

Well, I finally completed my CNC wood router build, and have setup
TurboCNC on the system. I'm using the HobbyCNC Pro package with
    the 305oz steppers.

It took me all night and today to finally get everything running properly
as far as scale goes, but what I need to know how to do now is set
    the limits for the steppers.

Can someone please explain how I go about setting the min/max movement
limits for my XYZ axis? (Sorry, no limit switches available at this time, needs
    to be software limit settings)

Also, anyone know of a good conversion utility for converting line drawings
    into usable g-code?

Thanks for any help you can offer,
    Patrick

I don't think TurboCNC has softlimits.

You're kidding me?... How am I suppose to tell it when it's
touched the table top for cutting or whatever? There has
    got to be something somewhere...

    Thanks,
    Patrick

TurboCNC does not have soft limits.

What you are after is tool height and coordinate systems. You use a tool as referance (or the spindle), and set all the other tools out from this (Z height). Then you set Z to zero once the tool tip touches the workpiece. You don't need soft limits to do this. Soft limits is so that you don't run the table too far out to either side, or the Z axis all the way to the top (and beyond!). This only works if your not missing steps. You should install limit switches if you don't want it to travel beyond its working envelope.

You should read through the TCNC manual.
