I am trying to change parameter 3202 ne9 on my machine and it is giving me a write protect message. want to read and writ 9000 programs. i have parameter write enabled and the machine edit key is on and in MDI mode. does anyone know if there is a parameter that will prevent you from changing anything even if you have the key and parameter write enabled.

Also when i try to type a [ it is giving me a paranthesis instead. need to write brackets not parenthesis. is there a parameter that would help fix this issue.

You must enable editing of 9000 level programs by turning PWE (parameter write enable)to bit 1 which is on position. Then change parameter 10 to enable editing. The default setting is 10010100 change it to 0010100 then edit the program. After you are finished, change parameter 10 back to prevent accidental edits of 9000 programs.

#3204 bit 0 = 1 for "(" and ")"
#3204 bit 0 = 0 for "[" and "]"

Also, #3204 bit 2 = 1 enables [C-EXT] soft key which gives you soft keys for "(", ")", and "@".

I would set #3204 bit 0 = 0 and #3204 bit 2 = 1. This gives you the best of both worlds.
