    Unhappy Mach3 MPG Setup...losing mind...requesting help...

    hey everyone!

I have the cnc4pc pendant seen here-
    http://www.cnc4pc.com/Store/osc/prod...roducts_id=158

    and the card seen here-
    http://www.cnc4pc.com/Store/osc/prod...roducts_id=159

I have a pci card for my second parallel port and windows says its functioning fine. windows says that the I/O range is DFF0-DFF7 and underneath DFE0-DFE7
Does this mean that my "port 2" in mach should be "0xff0"???
Also, my port 2 is enabled and the 2-9 pins are checked as imputs.

I have the MPG connection card pluged into the new pci parallel card in my desktop and the MPG pluged into that. I have the card power plugged into a spare usb port for the needed 5v.

I downloaded the brains from cnc4pc and installed in the correct folder.
    I followed the instructions here-
    http://cnc4pc.com/Tech_Docs/guide_fo..._over_LPT2.htm
to the letter! all the selections for ports/pins etc have been duplicated exactly.

I have made sure that jog mode is selected to "on" on the mach 3 mill "program run" screen.

I am now totally stumped. I dont know what im doing wrong.

I do have a http://www.cnc4pc.com/Store/osc/prod...roducts_id=161 board installed. but its not actually controling anything yet. just hooked up to act as an optioisolation failsafe.

Any help you guys can provide will be appriciated.

    Thanks,
    Nate in Meechigan...
    Nate.

Set your port 2 to "DFF0".

    Hello again!

I actually tried that last night. To no avail...

Any chance you know which Brain should be activated in mach3?

I am startig to suspect that my ports/pins and associated settings are wrong. unfortunately, i dont know how to work them out from scratch.

p.s. I just sent you a PM. right as you were posting your reply...lol

You shouldn't have any Brains activated, I don't think. You need to make sure the port is working first. The easiest way is to set up an output on the second port, turn it on and see if you get 5V at that pin.

Or set it up as a direction pin, and jog back and forth and see if it toggles from 0 to 5V.
