    FANUC 15T Write Protect

Hello, maybe some of you FANUC experts could shed some light. I have finaly gotten back to my machine and things were looking good for startup. I have run in to a new problem. When I try to modify the parameters so that I can use the serial port for program loading I get the write protect message. I have found thet I need to modify Parameter 8000 - PWE to 1 to clear the write protect but have been unable to do so. The manual says to go to the settings screen, enter 8000, press the input number soft key and the paramater should display on the screen. This does not happen. Any Ideas? I have gone into the Service screen and can see the Parameter but am not able to change it there either.

    Thanks in advance
