    MDI on M@ 2 control

I enter G01 F10. (and tried F.003 for IPR) and X-45. in MDI, but when I push start it just sits there with the green light on. Am I doing something wrong or is it the machine? Thanks

Sounds like X axis is interlocked for some reason. Search X interlock in ladders to see what the machine is waiting on. Maybe not all axis zero returned initially? ATC not parked or home? Table unclamped? Pallet unclamped? Tool measure arm extended? Something goofy like that.

    Moving Axis

If your machine is a lathe then G01 X-45. F10./F.01 will not move the machine unless the spindle is moving because you are in IPR (G99) try (IPM) G98 G01 X-45. F10. If this is a mill the it could be the interlock, door open feed overide turn down, chuck not clamped

In MDI mode if you wanted to move X 8 inches from were it is at 40 ipm you type in G91 G94 X8.0 F40.0 then "cycle start" No need for a S command unless you want one.

Just as I thought it was something simple: I was putting the S and M3 in the same block as the G01 X-20 F25. Too much for it, I guess, because I tried entering just the S and M3, cycle start to turn it on, then the G01 X-20 F25 seperately and pushed start and it worked fine. Thanks for the replies.
