I am working with Sinumerik 840D and am looking to collect process parameter data and output this data automatically to a file on the hard drive of the machine.

I have written code in my parts program file that collects the parameters I am looking for and writes to a local file on the NC. I am doing this using the WRITE function. I know I can manually "Unload NC -> HD" using the controller softkeys, however I would like to automate this so the data is exported to the hard drive after each run.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for your help!

There is no longer a way to force an NC unload except for a standalone program. If you want to send me your email address i can email you a copy of the program.

Could you give me more detail on the WRITE function, or other function that allow to open, write and append data on this cnc?
