    G99/G98 in peck drilling cycle

    Hi all,

I'm having fun with posts again, a VMC this time.

I'm using a pecking cycle, a G83, and my output is giving me this:

    G83 G99 Z-5.75 Q1.0 R10.0 F0.05

All good, except I may want the G99 to be a G98. I can't for the life of me find a switch anywhere in edgecam to change it.
How do I get to output:

    G83 G98 Z-5.75 Q1.0 R10.0 F0.05

It's got to be there somewhere, but I can't find it. The token is [RETRACTGCODE]

Make sure your Clearance value and the Retract value for your toolpath is the same and you'll get G99.

    It's not the post.

i replaced the g99 with g98 so it always kicks out the 98 no matter what.

in the hole cycle g-codes i made both return to initial level and return to r plane both 98.
i don't do large run production so the difference between .05 and 1.0 in between holes at 1400 rapid doesn't mean anything to me and 1.0 feels safer to me.

but mike is right how you fill in the clearance and retract will determine which kicks out.
i think if you don't put anything in retract you will get G98
