Missing Program Disk for CMC tape emulator

    Greetings from East Texas

I aquired a SM1 last week and been working on cleaning it up. It has a CMC dos base tape emulator but I did not get any books or disk with it. Could some point me to a copy of the CMC download software and a copy of the master file. I have not been able to power it up I think it's because the master is not loaded.

Thanks but I done try the file they had. Back in the 80’s every body did there own thing with “RS232 standard” So I need CMC software link and Cable to be sure. Now if someone has use the amtsinc software with a CMC card and it works then I have a different problem.

The AMTSINC software will work on the CMC emulator but the cabling is different, I will post the wiring tomorrow or you can call amts.

It would have taken a while to figure that one out. With any luck the old girl will fire up now!

Thanks that did the job can now down load the master. Still have problems.

Does any one have a schematics for a SM-1 with BX controller? Seams if I ground out pin 2 of IJ3 I can power up then if I press the operate button the drives will power up and I can move the drive by adjusting the balance. This is before I load the master. Once the master is loaded the drive power relay and all but the COR relay drop out. I’m left with the screen asking what language but no keys work.

The most common problem is that there is a key stuck. Bang on all keys and buttons about 5 times each and see if you cant select '0' for English. Let me know if this does not work

If a key is not stuck then the problem will be either the scan clock on the MPU brd or the Front Panel brd has a bad mux chip. Do you have any spare boards?

I assume you have the English -0 tec.. screen on the machine. Remove FPJ-4 from the Front Panel board. See if pressing '0' changes the screen to 'DATA BLK LAST'. If not, remove the large 40 pin ribbon from the top of the same brd. Take a jumper wire from pin 40 to pin 10 on the board. Pin 40 is back right pin and pin 10 is back row 5th pin from left. Short the pin briefly and see if screen changes.

    What is the results?

    Thx..Buddy

You need to have checked and/or repaired either the Front Panel brd or the MPU brd if your system is a BX. call Accurate Machine www.amtsinc.com

It is a Bx system. Looks like it's time to punt.

    Thanks
