I currently have a job involving an #4 satin finish on aluminum parts. The client wants the stroke (scratch very long) so hence why they are being stroke sanded and not ran through a timesaver. I am using 80grit Zirc Alum w/ bar soap as coolant and a rubber hand block that has graphite cloth on the bottom.

The problem is that i am getting overlap "waves" on the panels from where the hand block overlaped. The hand block is 10in and the panels are 30in.

I have tried a block that was 30in long but the panel heats up to much.

Any ideas?
