Does anybody have any experience with Rutland mills. I am being offered a 9x42 version for about 1200 and would like to know is; if the mill is in good condition is it worth that money. Thx

The Co. I work for bought it's first mill from Rutland in 1986 it has the brand name of Acramill, We've been using it every day for 22years and its still running great. They bought 2 more 2 years latter and there still running strong. I've been buying machine tools from Rutland for 25 years, and have never gotten anything bad from them.
I have a 1985 Rutland 9x42 I bought 10 years ago from a mom & pop shop, gave 3700. for it has chrome ways, does every thing I want to do, have a DRO on it. Would think if it is in good condition it is worth 1200. would not sell mine for that.
Anything else with it? Power feed on the table? Collets? Hold-down clamps? Vise? What kind of cosmetic condition? Is it a variable speed head or step pulleys?
I'd say that any 9x42 mill in any kind of acceptable cosmetic condition (not rusted or obviously beaten up) would be easily worth $1000-1500. Add in even basic accessories and I don't know how you could go wrong.
