    Haas VF-2 (???)

    Hello to everyone!

I want to report a problem that I am facing the last week.

I power up my VF-2 and run the warm up program (2020). After 2-3 minutes, the controller makes 2 beeps, the monitor goes black for 2 seconds and then turns on again.
After that, no button responds at all, (only the EMG STOP)
It continuous its program until it ends.

Then, I power off the machine and power up again in order to respond the controller.

I called my technician and cannot find anything...!

    Thank you for your time!

do you have the remote jog pendant?
there is a documented fix for this if you do, doesn't sound exactly like what you have though.

    Hello guys again!

    The problem is unsolved.

My controlled after 2 minutes is blinking (beep beep beep ...) and the screen turns into black. No respond at all with the buttons.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you in advance.

    OK! We finally found it!

The problem was the power supply of the TFT screen 15''. We change it and everything was ok!

Thanks for posting the outcome. This is generally a helpful bunch of people. I'm sure this is the first time that any of us have seen that.

This is the new style screen? Wow, your machine can't be that old. I wonder why it failed.

    Gremlins.

Inexpicable early failures at a very low frequency rate are a feature of all electronics. As I understand it electronic assemblies or components are 'sorted' by a 'burn in' procedure. They are run at more than their rated load for a period of time, some fail during this period but for the ones that survive burn in it can be statistically predicted that they will have a certain average lifetime. The key word is 'average', some are going to last way past the average life and some are going to fail at a very short life.
An open mind is a virtue...so long as all the common sense has not leaked out.
