    My new toys...

    Last night I cuted my firsts pattern with my new toy, a 2000w laser :cheers: I'm so exited about this machine :banana: , I also started to play with the cnc turret a cople days ago...wow this two machines working together rock!!!
    If there's someone using any of this two machines, please contact me, maybe we can share some tips...
    Next project...a 6ftx20ft plasma table...

    This equipment was purchased used, you could get a similar laser in the 150K figure...but you have to add all the infraestructure, chiller, oxygen, etc...
    I saw a couple of weeks ago on ebay a similar punch press for around 20k, but all depends on the condition of a used equipment, and to this you have to add the tools....

    I'm building a 100w CO2 project, and it seems like the hardest part is cooling. How is it done in the big leagues?

    Never mine, that part I will leave it for companies like amada. The guy that repairs the laser and give the mantinance, not kidding doesn't speak english I'm trying to figure out how he learn al the stuff he knows...he is like a guru maybe he could build one...he has 16 years cutting with a laser 8 hours a day
    a does cnc coding in his head...for me I'll just try building a small air cooled laser If I had to.
    The cooling part of the laser is a enormous chiller and very expensive one. If the laser costs x amount just do a 2x for the rest of the infrastructure needed to run it

    Most lasers have a water jacket, that should be sufficient for a 100w laser? You can run the water threw a radiator with a fan.

    1. How is the performance of the amada laser?

    2. Did you consider buying a trumpf laser?

    3. What are the common problems of the amada laser?

    4. Is the maintenance of the machine expensive?

    Regarding your next acquisition plans, why not buy a 7x20 TRumpf Laser with 5000 watts, that machine can eaily cut 1 inch steel. I currently operate an L6030s, which is Trumpf's 7x20 laser in 4000 watts, I have personally cut 3/4 inch steel with this machine. It is slow with that kind of thickness, but the cut quality is superb.
