    Talking craftex 13 x 24 metal lathe

    I was looking at the Busybee 10x18 craftex lathe but it not big enough for my needs but the busybee 13 x 24 craftex is. Was looking for apinions for anyone who know about this machine or own one, good or bad lets hear it. Thanks for the help....Murph

    Read the review here, they are not happy with the plastic gears in this machine.

    Well i just got back from busybee and the 13x24 no longer has plastic/nylon gears in it. So i will be packing one up on monday and some tooling to go with it. Will post pick when i get it.

    Very nice machine, you need to install a quick change tool post on that baby.

    I will be soon as christmas is over....A little pricey at $299.99. Are they really worth the money.

    I was intending on purchasing the same lathe, however in a earlier post, his lathe could not reach the 1900 rpm as posted on the lathe? do u have any issue with your lathe?

    Yes i did when i first got it, I pluged it in to a 15 amp breaker and it would trip it. So i put in a 20 amp and haven't had a problem since.

    This is a very interesting lathe.
    BTW what kind of quick change toolpost do you intend to install on your lathe?
    I bought exactly the same one yesterday...:-) It will be delivered in May. I can't wait ...
    When I looked at the QC toolpost at BusyBee Ottawa it seemed that I would have to make an adapter fot fit it on the CT089...

    By the way i talked with the sales guy and he assured me that there are no plastic gears in these latest models
