512 kb Adsl, provided by BT, £30 per month ($40?) Pretty expensive, but good, reliable service. What do you guys pay over the pond?

    I have 2 dial-ups.
The one I'm using now (the primary one) is $19. a month and average connection is 50,667bps. That's the best you can expect anywhere with dialup. However, when usage is heavy or there is an equiptment failure (server crash or whatever) they like to bump you off. That lead me to get another at $18. It connects at just under 50k. I also use a seperate phone line for internet. I thought about dsl but it is still more than I pay for 2 dial-ups. I have good connections so I'm happy.

I forgot to mention at work we are dsl. I'm not at all impressed.
Maybe it's because of the network but I think it's actually slower than what I have here, except for downloading. Upload is
    ssslllloooowwwww.

    I voted T1, but I have a point-to-point wireless link, at 2Mbit. (T1 is 1.3Mbit).

Of course the company can't keep it running at much better than dial up speeds, but if I surf at 3 am, it is smokin'.

    $40/month

Bi-Directional Satellite, $60 a month. Download speed comparable to cable; upload speed about twice as fast as a modem.
