Hypertherm 1650 vrs Thermal Dynamics 102

What machine is better and which costs less to operate? We have a hyperthem 1000 right now and are looking to upgrade. The Thermal Dynamics machine costs quite a bit less initally but what about consumables? Thanks in advance for all advice!

I have a 1650.... good machine. Excellent tech support!

Consumable cost have gone up indeed. I have tried the after-market tips/electrodes but I am not seeing much if any difference in run time...

    Good luck

Hypertherm's primary design philosophy is to build reliability and low operating costs into the performance of their units. You may pay a little more for the nozzles and electrodes for Hypertherm machines at the dealer....but when you factor in the life of the consumables in feet cut (in some cases miles cut!)...then you will find that the Hypertherm units are less expensive to own and operate. The Hypertherm Powermax 1650 is a solid, 100 Amp air plasma system (3 phase power only)....
