    Direction output inverted in Mach3 R3.041

    Hello;

    I found out there is a discrepancy between the Mach3 configuration and the pin logic output for the four axes Direction signals, Step pulses are OK. If I setup Direction Active High, the Direction pin, when going forward, goes to zero instead of logic 1.

    Is it something common for all Mach3 revisions or is is something specific to my PC or configuration? Please, I need to find out as soon as possible.

    I would like another user to test it with a multimeter or logic probe, please.

    Best regards,

    Kreutz.

    The newer version R3.042 has the same problem.

    Under Config > Homing/Limits, do you have "reversed" checked for any axis? That's how you change the motor direction if it's opposite of what's expected.

    Hello Gerry;

    No, nothing is checked, should I check the "reverse" then? I found the problem when testing my new bipolar drives, they use the direction signal also in automatic Slow/fast decay mode circuit. The drives are configured for Active high Step and direction signals but Mach3 was sending the wrong logic level with active high direction, which made the motors to turn in the wrong direction.
    I could easily solve the problem by swapping the A and B motor coils, but then the labeling on my drives is not going to be consistent with the stepper motor wire's color code if people are using Mach3.

    Thanks,

    Kreutz

    If you check "reverse", you should get the results your looking for.

    Take a look at mine...

    Hi,mine doesn't have any problem at all regarding that matter.
    My machine runs smoothly on the X,Y and Z axes.
    Problem is, Mach3 reads the Gcode correctly but the result is inverted.

    I already fixed it in Artcam by setting the 'mirror' option but i am not yet satisfied.

    Where did i go wrong?

    hug bear,

    Check X axis scale, if it = -1.0000 then the axis will mirror movement on X, needs to be +1.0000.

    Incredible! I've had this same problem for awhile and have never even noticed the "scale" setting to the right of the axis readouts on the main panel. I've also been mirroring my patterns to get them to machine correctly. Thanks for the tip!

    Hi

    This is a picture of what i'm seeing right now.
    bbc is the settings before cut and bbcouput is the cut result.
    Where do i set the scale settings?
    I seem to have a hard time finding it.

    look to the right of the position numbers for the X, Y, and Z axis. See the scale number 1.0000. Click on it and type -1.0000 and hit enter.

    Hi..

    Sorry to disappoint but i still got the same results as last time,
    I just wonder why the scale lights were blinking on and off?
    Could i ask for anymore suggestions?

    Thank You.

    I ended up only switching 2 of my axis, Y and Z I think. Try experimenting with changing the scale to -1 for X, Y, or Z only, then -1 for X and Y, X and Z, and Y and Z. Since you've already done X, Y, and Z, that will be all the combinations. BTW, what CAM package are you using?
