    Ports and motors ...

    Hi all:

I have downloaded and installed Mach3 on my machine. And set port 1 on the config. page. Motor X moves OK but not the Y axis.
If I mark port 2, Y axis motor moves, but not the X axis.
Same thing happens if conected to port 2 .

Have to mark both ports ( 1 and 2 ) to get movement for the 3 axis. ( ??? )

Any idea about what to do ? ( Re installation did not change it ). What to erase in order to reinstall it from zero ???

    Thanks to all

If you have your bob/drives connected to the first, or only, parallel port then you will want to select port 1. Port 2 is only needed if you have another parallel port installed.
You need to also set the step and direction pins but that will depend entirely on your bob/drive. You really need to find a manual for the board you are configuring, or post the brand/model of the board and maybe someone here can help.

    Hi LaserImage:

May be I was not clear in my original post.
    a.- I do have 2 ports ( "1 original one and "2 additional card ).
b.- I was using ( and still use it ) port ·1 with a foam cutting program without problem.
c.- Settings for the Mach3 were done on motor tuning screen for port ·1 , assiigning pins for the 3 axis and port1 source.

d.- Motors wired to DB25 socket on the mother board ( port 1 ) but... only X axis moves!. If I uncheclk port 1 and mark port2 ( without socket change ) Y axis moves and not X axis.

e.- Checking ( assigning ) both ports ... and DB25 connected always on the same socket, all motors move . And can cut without problem.
But sounds unlogical. something is not correct.

Bob card and drivers are homemade and in use since 2007 with Quickstep sofware. Now I was thinking in a change to Mach3 and found this setup problem. Perphaps a PC internal one. Don´t know exactly.

    Thanks for your help.
