Yep, runs in windows, but the gui is totally different than the Dos version. Still needs some work before it is ready for prime time.

Have been using successfully using dos version for a short time and then downlaoded the new windows version and installed it on a Windows ME machine. The GUI looks very promising, but tried to load the old configuration file (.ini) that worked on the dos version and it loaded with some errors. Then manually entered the same setup data but cannot get any response on the printer port. Will look into it further but curious if anyone else has had any problems or success in this new version of TurboCNC...
It says Win2K, XP, or Vista. NOT Windows ME.

can it run mill mode?

It would appear so as you can configure additional axis. I seem to remember the only graphics at this time are for the lathe though.

Looks intriging. I wonder if buying the DOS TCNC licence will allow to use the windows based one, or will I have to buy again?
From what I understand, you will need two separate licenses if you want the dos one and the windows one.

I got an email form Dave Kowalczyk himself. he still wants lifetime upgrades for those who purchase the source code. The makers of the windows based do NOT. they want a licence for each. So he's having issues there
Just the realtime Axis readout is what I would love. I have no issues running in DOS. getting pretty good at keyboard commands
If I remember correctly, Dave K. indicated that was one of the things he was looking at for in the next version (realtime axis readout). Got a mail from him last week, and he is working on the "digispeed" codes.

Hi,
I interested with this verdion "TCNC 5 beta",
but all links for it is dead.
Please share this version,if it possible.
Thanks.
I "think" it died a natural death because it was an attempt to try and make it run under windows and not eliminate the overhead windows has! Then the person doing it lost interest "I think" and it has just gone away.

I agree - so and want to take a look at this version
Моre similar programs with this functionality:
1) PAUK4x
2) VRI-CNC
2) IntuCNC
4) ..etc..
- there is desire to compare.
