    New Synchronous Technology in NX6

Here is a very informative video that explains the New Synchronous Technology in NX6 and Solid Edge.

Since we use Team Center Engineering, I'm told that we have to upgrade to TcE 2005 to be able to run NX6. Our IS guy is going to do that next weekend. I'm anxious to play with it.
Hey, why's it going over there?!!

I installed it the day I got it. Synch Tech works great for mold work. 10 times better then DMX (I know same stuff, but 6 gives tons more).

I HATE the drop down menus. Siemens continues to fix what wasn't broken. (I think Microsoft is advising them)

As an Instructor I have found to "old" menus very confusing for someone who is learning NX. They were different from one option to the next and between applications. The overhaul of the User interface was long overdue IMHO.

For experienced users it is more like “who moved my cheese”

But is what they changed better?

I agree module to module they were inconsistent. But the engage/retract options are the same as they were, with a few options added. The only consistent thing is drop down menu. The location they decided to put some stuff was really dumb. Like cutter comp in planar mill, instead of on the first tab you now have to drill down in the menu and you find it under "more", really user friendly.

    I am lovin NX6.

As different as the pull down menus are, I am getting used to them. I figure that the developers have done their research and implemented the best lay out. I can imagine those guys wondering what the heck users complain about. Ever wonder why users complain about interface issues, but never about real short comings of a CAM system...

Ever had anyone critisize your product? Ever get critisizm from a novice? I mean all of us are really novices at NX6 since it is still really new, unless you are on the development team, or are a Beta tester...
