I just installed BobCAD V22 mill on my computer and it opens with no problems but it keeps telling me that it is in Demo Mode and I have the Dongle plugged in. The computer is running windows vista x64. Any suggestions?

Have you followed the instructions on bobcads website, under support, for using with windows Vista? That is usually the problem, the damn Vista security features.
Yeah, I tried their solutions and the program stops responding and gives me an error message. I tried changing the setting first then tried downloading the updates both of which end in the same result. Rite now the program opens in Demo mode with no problems but I would like to have the use of all functions.
have you searched bobcads support forum for this problem? I remember reading something on the Vista 64 bit, but I didn't think it was this problem.
But, have you tried to open "my computer" and right click on the dongle "drive" that's there, then click dongle, or something like that? I'm trying to go from memory here, so sorry if I'm not right on on the procedure.

My dongle wasn't working and Viagra fixed me right up.
Seriously, I had a similar problem and discovered that you must be running in Administrator mode on your computer for it to see the dongle.

Looks hopeless. Program now sees dongle but it has to close and restart constantly. I purchased the software from someone on this forum and I am concerned that BobCAD will not help me out if I call them and tell them I purchased it online and not through them. Anyone know if they will still help me out?
Bobcad just charges a $75 dollar licence transfer fee for creating your account. You can then get support for an anuall fee as well.
Its not very expensive. As for the dongle issue , Bobcad works fine on vista 64 but you must run as admin if your softwarew is crashing it could be related to your video card try updating your card drivers and or disabling the desktop compositioning. There are some good Faq's that you can access from bobcadsupport.com/ just click on the help desk link.
I don't know if this is relevant or not but I've had 3 months of problems getting my Dolphin cad/cam to work and finally had to buy a dongle. With this program you can't have the dongle in the USB port while the program installation is taking place. It has to be unplugged and after the installation of the program then insert the dongle and install the drivers. I had to uninstall the program even to the extent of going into Regedit and clearing everything out that had anything to do with the program. Do a search for the program and delete anything that is still on the hard drive. It's a lot of work but in my case that's what it took. Make sure to reboot and unplug the power cord also. Sounds like a lot of work but that's what it took on mine. Good luck on yours

You're whining and crying here without providing us with any additional information to help diagnose the problem.
$75 is outrageous for a simple license transfer. They will key your account to your phone number and bug you forever to purchase V23. You can purchase another computer for what they will charge for the transfer + a maintenance contract.
I purchased a used program and am getting along just fine without their support.
We're trying to help you.
What did you do to get the dongle working?
Did you download the latest version of software?
Did you try it on another computer?
Are you using any other packages that could conflict with Bob?
Hey Don,
Haven't seen you around here much recently. Hopefully the Gee-Tar business is doing well.
I'm curious as to what their marketing angle was - Increased functionality? Bug fixes? Fewer crashes?
Hey Bro..
Marketing angle...lol.
They said it had more functionality than v22, and was "more stable" than v22. So I said, "So you're admitting that v22 isn't that stable?"... and on and on we went. "It could make you more productive for jobs." "But I'm a hobbiest, and don't care about productivity/speed". He told me I should buy it because I might need the functionality some day. I said "So, if I might need to drive down the road in a Rolls Royce some day, then I should just go buy one of those too?" He said that's not the same thing. He's right. I should have said "Edsel" instead.
