    Core Drilling Sapphire?!?!?!?

Hello everybody, Im not really sure where to post this, but since its machining Ill post it here. I have a 2.087 Diameter Diamond Coring Drill. My task it to cut a 3 to 4 inch deep core out of a solid sapphire cylinder. Im using a Supermax 3 rebel with a Fanuc-OM Controller. I called the manufacturer of the drill and they recommended about 2000 RPM for this drill, which seems high to me, thus I am here. I need some Feeds and Speeds. Ive only ground sapphire, I have never actually machined it before, so Im pretty in the dark. Ill see if I cant post up some pictures for you guys, because it looks pretty neat. Thanks for any and all help.

I would go by what the manufacturer says, seems like they specialize in that type of machining.
