    Red face Spindle Fan

I did a stupid thing. The Spindle fan died on my VMC 15XT with the 7500RPM.
So, I removed it and wrote the Sunon fan number down so I could order it from Digi-Key. Better price. Right? $56.61
Well anyway, I start to order it the next day and can't find the slip of paper I wrote it on! No big deal...I'll go out to the dumpster and get it. Big deal... the dumpster's been emptied!

I need the Sunon fan number not the FADAL one (ELE-0124). I think it is:

    Sunon A1175-HBT.TC.GN

If there is anyone willing to look at their machine and tell me the Sunon Fan number, I'd sure be thankful to them and promise not to be so stupid... well, at least until the next time!!:withstupi

We use Comair rotrons (Patriot) for our 10,000rpm spindles...not sure if they are the same as your but its part # PT2B3 115V .27/.28 A 30/31 W
We have had good luck with our Fadals milling mostly soft steel and aluminum up to 5 axis. We are always looking for spare parts If you have a broken down Fadal give a shout.

Are you sure it was the fan and not the fuse in the back control box?

    Just sayin. :stickpoke

I just replaced my spindle fan on a 2006 4020 10,000 rpm machine. I had a Com Air Rotron Model MR2B3 PN: 28245 6.75 dia 6.375 hole center. I purchased a replacement from Allied Electronics (WWW.ALLIEDELEC.COM) due to the Com Air being out of stock. It is an Orion OA172SAP-11-1WB (Allied PN: 592-0082) at a cost of $40.70 ea.
I had to use the juction box and connector pins from the old fan to interface with the factory 2-pin plug, but a small price to pay for saving nearly half!!
The fan works great and is quiet.

I also have a 1992 3016 10,000 rpm machine with a different type of spindle fan.
    It is a:
    Bodine Electric Company fan.
    Type: 42X3BFSI
    No: S0716207
    115 VAC
    1 PH
    2.4 A
    60 Hz
    1/12 HP
    1700 RPM

Best of luck to you and I hope this reply helps you or others.

    Respectfully,

    Great replies!!

Thanks all for your responses, I checked the fuse after I looked at the fan which had smoke coming from it! I also bench tested it, the windings are shorted). (thanks MC)
I’ve found a “COMAIR PT2B3/28254 ROTRON FAN 115VAC 235CFM NEW IN BOX J3A2.” I e-mailed the place to see if it is the same as the # PT2B3 115V .27/.28 A 30/31 W. ( thanks Carbidecraters) ( they are 14 weeks BO )and the same size, 172x51 or close enough. I was wrong about the fan I thought it was.
I’ll look into Allied’s Fans also (thanks James)

    donnalsen, you are the man!!

Your offer... is above and beyond. As I am just refurbishing this machine and it is not a emergency... it is not necessary, but I thank you ...I can wait until I find one.
The COMAIR PT2B3/28254 ROTRON FAN 115VAC 235CFM NEW IN BOX J3A2 is available and I fairly sure it will work( I wasn't clear in my earlier note the # PT2B3 115V .27/.28 A 30/31 W is the one on Back Order and out 14 wks). I'm sure I will find what I need before the machine needs to be back in use.

    Follow up...

In all respects and by the data sheet The COMAIR PT2B3/28254 ROTRON FAN 115VAC 235CFM J3A2 is the same fan as # PT2B3 115V .27/.28 A 30/31 W and Fadal number ELE-0124.
I paid $37.00 new for it plus $10.00 shipping from NC to CA. from [email protected]. They are on EBay also. If there is any hookup issues, bolt pattern, elec. connectors ect. I'll post a note. Thanks everyone.
