    Rego Fix toolholders

We are using Rego pg 25 tool holder system When roughing SS and Ti with 1/2 sold carbide roughers we have expierience several times the end mill pulling out. I did not think that we were pushing the cutter too hard. 225 SFPM and .002: per tooth (4 flute em) 65% stepover at .25 to .5 DOC.

Anyone ever expierience this? Our Regro rep says if we follow thier guidlines this WILL not happen. We followed thier instructions fully. Still they pull out. Several other users told me not to rough with them.

    Thanks!

Regofix stuff is usually good. The cutters you are using do not have flats on the shanks do they? This reduces grip by about 35%.

No, the end mills that we are using have no flats, and are within Rego's suggested tolerance range. We also have been using the collet stops as they suggest. I have been told by others that for precision they are great but not for aggressive cutting.
